  • What if someone dies in his/her home country?

Our services are only available in reach of Jame Makki Masjid or ISNA Mississauga, therefore unfortunately if one dies in his/ her home country FASP cannot do anything

  • Who can join FASP?

All Muslims who live in the region of Peel and are in the reach of Jame Makki Masjid of Brampton or Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) in Mississauga.

  • Can those who have an International Student or Refugee status in Canada join FASP?

Yes if they are living in the reach of Jame Makki Masjid of Brampton or Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) in Mississauga.

  • If a registered member moves to another part of the GTA, will he/ she be benefitted by the services FASP provides?

Yes, the member will receive the benefits/services of FASP as long as he/ she are in the reach of Jame Makki Masjid of Brampton or Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) Mississauga.

  • How can I become a member?

In order to become a member you must fill up a member registration form and pay a $100 (CAD) fee (Non-refundable).

  • When will my services be activated?

His/her services will be activated 90 days from when his/her application is submitted.

  • How the FASP system works?

In case of FASP member death society will inform to all the members by email, text messages or telephone about Salah-tul-Janaza's location, date and time. FASP will pay funeral expenses and later on all expenses will be divided to all main members equally, the share of each main member of FASP will then be withdrawal from their bank account after 72 hours of this information. That is why FASP requires from all main applicants to attach a void cheque with their application.

  • In case of member death, how FASP will inform to all members?

FASP will inform to all the members by telephone, e-mail or text messages that is why it is important to update your contact information.

  • Why should I inform to my friends and mention their names in the application?

In case of death FASP will be able to contact your friend to get information regarding burial arrangements and to fill out relevant documents. Otherwise your friends could help inform FASP about its member.

  • Can parents be added as additional members in the application form?

No, they have to submit a separate application for their membership

  • How much is the membership fee?

Principal applicant fee $ 100.00 (CAD) and for additional member fee is $ 15.00 (CAD).

  • Who is an additional member?

Additional members can only be your spouse and/ or children.

  • If an additional member is living with parents and gets merry, does he/she need a separate registration?

Yes, the newlywed couple must fill out a separate application but he will pay only $ 85.00as a principle applicant and $15.00 for spouse as an additional member

  • If a member is blessed with another child what must he/she do?

He/ she must update their application within 3 months and pay $15.00 to register the baby an additional member

  • If a member does not pay his share of the dues, what action will be taken by the Society?

FASP will remind him/her, first to pay his/her share however, if he/she fails to do so then FASP has a right to revoke his/her membership and will not get any benefit of the society.

  • If the member writes a "will" that he/she should be buried in back home how will FASP help?

If the member has mentioned in his/ her will that he/ she would prefer to be buried in his/her back homeland. If an airline provides free transportation services to the desired

  • Will services be provided, if death occurs out of reach of Jame Makki Masjid and ISNA Mississauga or out of the Country?

NO, our services are only available in reach of Jame Makki Masjid or ISNA Mississauga

  • What should I do if a member dies at home?

Dial 911 for emergency assistance (an ambulance, the fire department or the police) and a coroner (Investigation Officer) will come to your home and will sign a death certificate which gives you permission to contact a funeral home to make arrangements to transfer your loved one. Or, they may decide that an autopsy is required: v If permission is given Call Funeral Aid Society of Peel FASP shall contact to the relevant mosque, and will inform them of his/her death. FASP will then make burial arrangements with the help of a family member or relative. v If an autopsy is required: Your loved one will be taken to the hospital for autopsy. During that time FASP will contact to the relevant mosque to inform them about the death. After the autopsy has taken place and the doctor has signed the death certificate, FASP will make burial arrangements with the help of a family member or relative.

  • Why should I write a "will"?

According to Canadian law your property does not transfer automatically to your loved ones if you pass away, and to legally transfer the property a "Will" is needed. The Will can be written by yourself or through a Lawyer, so that your family is given full access to your assets after your death.
